To be serious for a second, the data protection acts which are the relevent legislation here does not specify what age someone should be to be entitled to consent to the use of their data; and using their image in a TV show is use of their data. In the absence of specific rules re: personal information in the data protection legislation, cognisance should be taken of other areas where an under 18 year old is able to consent including the medical setting where consent can be given at 16. The data protection commisioner has said this specifically. So, the answer is that it isnt clear but a prudent school would obtain consent from the children to avoid falling foul of the legislation. So when you categorically state that minors cannot consent, you are talking stoopid.
And when you say that 'Minors under 18 cannot sign valid contracts', you are being monumentally stoopid. All minors can enter & sign 'contracts for conveniences' - google it and educate yourself rather than continue being stoopid.
