    Goodbye Willie O'Dea

The bluff and bluster exuded by Defence Minister Willie O'Dea on RTER1's Drivetime this evening circa 5pm was just breathtaking. It says a lot about Limerick folk that they would select this individual as one of their prime representatives. He was just clueless about the nation's floundering amid the current blizzard conditions and the ineffectiveness of the official response.

Taoiseach BC should wake up and try to ensure that the Ministers he appoints give confident leadership to the public. The public will be more generous in their responses when that is done.
We have had enough of these spluttering jackasses, away with them, I say.

One would be obliged if people could refrain from libeling people in this thread. I won't be saying it again.

No, I do not blame Willie, they have been getting away with this carry on for years,I blame both F.G.and Labour they should not alone be calling for Willies resignation
but the governments, any minister that could go on national radio and treat the people with utter contempt, just making it up as he went along just shows the way we deserve to be treated, after all he did get 20,000 votes,It seems to me at this stage that it is acceptable behaviour to the opposition, it is what we deserve from each of them. we put them all in the Dail

I despise O'Dea more than the next man but it is harsh to blame the people of Limerick when you look at the other members of the Dail. What County can hold its hand up and say "look at the shining examples of political competence and integrity that we elected"
We have turned the corner.I commend this Budget to the House. Brian Lenihan, 9 December 2009
