Microsoft, Yahoo and flickr have censored lndian porn access.

this wee post is sister to the Chinese censorships which in their scope were more far reaching (though ultimately failed when China attempted to make the Green dam youth filtering system a universal purchase with all PCs). the above mentioned companies ^ have introduced access filters and 'cultural statements' if one veers into porn grey areas. The perameters of what is considered porn is mostly undiscussed here : http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology...rnet-india-law

You needn't look that far afield. Eircom as part of a settlement with EMI and other content companies have it was alleged agreed to ban sites associated with piratebay.org and to inorduce filtering to its services and possibly introduce a three strike policy on users who it is alleged have downloaded pirate copyright content. Digital Rights Ireland Music industry pushing for internet filtering as well as “three strikes” – what can you do about it?

No need to look to India or China it is happening here!

Given some of the porn that is on the internet and the easy access that kids have to it these days, maybe a little censorship is not a bad thing.

Or indeed supervision of the kids, or failing that, acceptance that there is high statistical chance that say a teenage boy will, one way or another, find a way to look at porn.

The Indians have a peculiar attitude to porn

They created huge stone sculpture friezes celebrating copulating with donkey-horses.
