Facebook change privacy settings - all data visible by default.

Facebook has changed its privacy settings within the last 24 hours. This has dramatically increased the amount of personal information people display online and has outraged digital rights groups and civil liberties campaigners.

"These new 'privacy' changes are clearly intended to push Facebook users to publicly share even more information than before," said Kevin Bankston, a senior attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
"Even worse, the changes will actually reduce the amount of control that users have over some of their personal data."

The changes make all your information visible to everybody on the web unless you specifically edit the settings yourself - status updates can now also be picked up by search engines.

When you log in you are greeted with a window which alerts you to the changes and gives you the option of modifying your security settings. The default setting for all data availability is 'everyone can see'.

Ha, I noticed that, and under the guise of improving security too, luckilyI checked it out an dput every thing back to friends only.

Even when you delete your account your information,pictures etc. is still stored.
