Should RTE rebroadcast TG4 programs to save money?

I think that RTE should rebroadcast some TG4 programs. The soap opera "Rós na Rún" for example could be shown. This could save a lot of money buying soaps like Eastenders, Cornation St. which are shown on BBC or UTV anyway. There are also many good shows like "glas vegas" and Cogar and finally GAA beo. The series "Rásaí na Gaillimh" is great also.
This would help save the Gaelic language, and give jobs to Irish actors/actresses. Further information see TG4 - Irish language television channel - Teilifis Gaeilge - Leathanach Baile

MY suggestion for what it is worth would be to do a re-run of Reeling in the Years

Why don't we just close down TG4, and transfer the Irish language programming to RTE2? RTE provides much of the Irish language channel's programs as it is.

There have been some excellent sub-titled documentaries broadcast on TG4.

My wife and I thorougly enjoy many of the life stories recounted on Comhrá.

Yes repeat them on RTE replacing the depressing English soaps.

By and large, RTÉ do not see the 'Irish language gang' as falling within their remit as viewers and are happy for TG4 to exist and show all of the Irish language content (or 99% of it, if you discount Léargas and Nuacht), as it gets them nicely off the hook. There is nothing to prevent RTÉ from showing TG4 content, but they just don't see it as 'their area'. Thing I like about that is that TG4's position is all the more secure because of that attitude.
