    Government must respect Lisbon No vote - O’Leary: ThePost.ie

    wasnt he spotted with sarkosy, blair & the edge in some discotheque on the riviera recently.
    And look what O'Leary said as per that article post Lisbon MK1;

    ‘‘It seems that only in the European Union, Ireland and Zimbabwe you are forced to vote twice,” O’Leary said on a visit to Brussels last week. ‘‘The vote should be respected. It is the only democratic thing to do.”

    ... Does the second part of that remind you of anyone (hint hint - in charge of a major Irish Political Party advocating a Yes vote again)

    Oh they were heady days indeed after the defeat, when it seemed anything was possible. Like maybe my vote counted for something.

    Ok, lets ponder this for a moment. O'Leary is calling for a YES, but has he actually explained why he is calling for a YES?

    Good for Europe, good for Ireland. Thats is not an arguement.

    Has anyone asked him has he read the treaty? I can imagine his answer if I asked it directly, I am sure you can too.

    Yes, we have established that it's good for us, to be at the heart of Europe, good for business, but can he explain it in laymans's terms why it's good as opposed to bashing the Government while he campaigns for a YES.

    So from a logical perspective, he wants a YES, but calls the Government a bunch of wasters to put it mildly, surely, that distracts from the Lisbon treaty and only adds fuel to the fire to the anger at Government felt by the electorate, hence they will vote NO against Government as opposed to the treaty, after all, as has been pointed out by the YES side, they are two different things.

    But O'Leary has managed to do the opposite and could potentially sway a lot of voters to the NO side in my opinion. (Basing it on anger at Government)

    Yes, he maybe business savvy, but that's not a good enough reason. Also, let us not forget what country elevated this fledgling airline to what it is today. Ireland did, but he has shown contempt on many an occasion because of Government policy here, putting people out of jobs, unless he was telling porkies, they were loss making routes that had to be culled anyway, but used another excuse as opposed to their own and put ordinary people on the dole. That is not business savvy, that is a dishonest approach to business.
