    As I imagine everyone knows Nice was always meant to be temporary. It did give us exactly the same rights to an EU Commissioner as every state and every state was still going to have on equal rights in the orginal Lisbon Treaty and now even if this one is passed.

    However our rejected of Lisbon has messed it up a bit, as the long-term status of the Commission in Nice was left vague, as Nice was never meant to be a long-term treaty.

    Where does it say anything about a permanent seat on the Commission?

    What power?

    Maybe he realised that when Maastrict didn't destory Ireland, that he was wrong and that the EU wasn't so bad after all.
