    Tony Benn to visit Dublin

I see from the People's Movement website:
    People's Movement Home Page

that Tony Benn is coming to speak at a fund-raiser for their Lisbon referendum campaign on September 9th.

Great to see the tourists coming in, I saw Carla Bruni on with Jools Holland last night, Is there any truth in the rumour that she's coming to canvas for Lisbon and will sing the national anthem at the All-Ireland?

Going by the invitation it looks as if you can go along for free dinner and wine on the night! The invitation does not list a price tag so I presume the organisers are leaving to those who turn up to make a more than adequate donation to cover the meal plus a donation to the campaign, say €100+ a head I'd imagine they are looking for.

The organisers are relying its seems on the conscious (or guilt) of those who turn up to be generous.......screw that, I'll eat the dinner, drink the wine and wave goodbye.

Presumably FutureTaoiseach, Eurosceptic and company will be on this thread soon to complain about this foreign interference in our referendum campaign?

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Well let me be the first NO voter to complain about him being here.

Tony should not tell people how to vote. What he should do is remind us of the outrageous smear campaign made against him in the british 1975 EEC referendum. This will put the dirty tricks of the yes to lisbon brigade in context.
