Another band-wagon anti-Lisbon campaign group - Palestine Solidarity against Lisbon

Two people, an old guy and a young guy with grey hair on Grafton Street earlier with a large poster campaigning for a No to Lisbon

Israel killed over 300 Palestinian children in January 2009-

yet the EU refuses to impose sanctions

    EU policy facilitates Israeli crimes

    vote No to Lisbon

As I pointed out with the Vintners earlier on, it looks like this is the chance for anyone with a gripe about anything for any reason whatsoever to start a No to Lisbon group.

This isn't going to get interesting, this is going to get repetitive, pathetic and tedious. I think people could be encouraged to Vote Yes just on the basis on making all this nonsense go away.

The self-amending aspects of the treaty (and acknowledged by Dick Roche and the German Courts) was something I was against in the past, but seriously, the chance of no more referendums thus not encouraging these wild west campaigns is becoming too tempting.........

Incidentally, the website is registered to a Sean Clinton, who appears to be a member of the Limerick branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC)

Yes, it is a legitimate gripe I think. What is wrong with being a member of the IPSC? He has his reasons for opposing it like the Yes side have reasons for supporting it.

It's not a reason to vote 'yes' any more than farmers-for-Lisbon is a reason to vote 'no'...

I'm actually voting no to Lisbon, yet believe Israel is perfectly within its right to protect itself against attacks. So I don't see the point this group is trying to make to be brutally honest. The Palestinians have been firing rockets and bombing innocent Israeli civilians for years, so perhaps they should clean up that area of their behaviour first, before getting involved in a treaty which has nothing to do with them. And that's regardless of which side they are canvassing for.

The outcome of the Referendum will not effect Israel's relations with Palastine.
And although I am Anti-Israel I will make my decision based on the contents of the treaty rather than the EU's Internation Relations.

It's not just the left wing. The anti-abortion movement rally on 4 July was dependent on Lisbon as a rallying point, even though nobody knowledgeable thinks Lisbon affects Irish abortion laws. European treaties offer them a chance to organise when otherwise their supporters wouldn't care.

Jesus, nothing like a confused convert. They've actually been active over the last month or so throughout the City.

You are making out both sides are as bad as each other when Israels killing ratio is something like 1000/1.

I'm sorry, but Coir do, spectacularly funded with no media attention during the campaign (Lisbon 1), even though people were suggesting money was coming from the US.

I got abusive harassing phonecalls from many people in Coir saying Lisbon would bring abortion in, because they'd read the document, and the opt-outs weren't there.

My attempt to inform them that it was an amending treaty fell on deaf, rabid, insane ears.

If ever there was a reason to separate Church and State, Lisbon is it.
