Labour launches Lisbon Campaign and Happy Gilmore's post 13th June 08 Lisbon stance

Today Labour fired ahead with its Yes Campaign before the forthcoming October Referendum ... fronted of course by Mr. Gilmore

Labour launches Lisbon campaign - The Irish Times - Fri, Jul 17, 2009

the same Mr. Gilmore who on 13th June 08 on RTE Six One News stated:

I think the Lisbon Treaty is dead. The Lisbon Treaty to be ratified requires 27 Member States to ratify it. The Irish people have now decided in a Referendum that they do not wish to have it ratified therefore Ireland cannot ratify the Lisbon Treaty and therefore the Lisbon Treaty falls

I don't think there's any question of this Treaty being put a second time to the people

People have made a decision. The Lisbon Treaty cannot now be ratified. And I think that the decision that has been made by the Irish people has got to be respected by everybody. Got to be respected by the Taoiseach, by the Government, by the other Member States, by the political leadership in Brussels

It's here to watch/listen for yourselves ... RTÉ.ie Media Player: Lisbon result poses question for EU

How in all sincerity can Mr. Gilmore be fronting and advocating a yes Vote to Lisbon after his comments on 13th June 2008 on the National Broadcaster for all to plainly see and hear?

As per Joe Costello TD The Campaign will include Twitter, Facebook and other social networks and blogging along with live video streaming of its townhall meetings

Well maybe people should be given a link to that RTE News url from 13/6/08 as well

No ... well certainly not after this anyways!

Pfff Twitter, Facebook et al Campaigns .... shall be firing this url link into them all RTÉ.ie Media Player: Lisbon result poses question for EU .. I suggest others who may be interested might think of doing likewise

Course if the RTE url link suddenly goes "offline" after in excess of 12 months of being online, well then, it's prob intentional

Hmmmm .... no resident Yes to Lisbon types hopping inevitably onto this Lisbon Thread in rebuff mode .... wonder why ... it is cos this is factual statement stuff by a pro Lisbon type which can't be rebuffed too easily as he bloody well said it

Or maybe it's a case that the proponents are out and about and off P.ie -> Ibis, HBAP, Tommy O'B et al

Or can't be arsed, of course - but who would I be to deny you your hour of joy?

Nice to see they've brought back that God awful "Proud to be Irish, Yes to Europe" slogans.

You'll notice a lot of that. Some threads are carefully avoided. While they'll swarm like wasps on sight of a simple inaccuracy and howl like wolves.

Hmmmm my own Sig "Yes to Europe No to Lisbon" is more covering of the pop of the EU in that case (99% of whom (by those with a vote in such areas) have no direct say on Lisbon)

But that's Labour for ya ... a Leader with the largest u-turn conceiveable in just over 12 months advocating a yes vote in just over 2 months .... wonderful isn't it ... but that's politics (consequences on those who have to live it subsequently shoved to the side)

    Hmmm today's IT (surprise suprise) follows on the Yes to Lisbon thing by rehashing yesterday's Labour Campaign the subject of the OP in this Thread;

Labour to conduct Lisbon campaign like 'ground war' - The Irish Times - Sat, Jul 18, 2009

as per the Article, Gilmore allegedly states Labour will conduct it's Yes Campaign like a "ground war"?

Gilmore should do the honourable thing, shut his gob, go back in his box and partake no more in the forthcoming Referendum, whilst at the same time watching and rewatching whilst in his box a Vid rerun of his Appearance on the RTE Six One News on 13/6/08 ... and reflect on it
