Bookies backing Lisbon - but fear fickle electorate

Paddy Power is to offer new odds on the Lisbon Treaty referendum this week and will give prices on the size of the Yes vote in October. The shortest odds are for a Yes vote of between 60% and 65%. You get 5/1 on anything less than 50%.

Intesting, notwithstanding the fact that they were completely wrong last time and lost a heap of cash.

    I can't see either side exceeding 55%.

Put a bet on those two 5-1 outcomes and it could be nicely profitable.

I'd say turnout is more of a threat to them than a fickle electorate.

Reckon you're right. It'll surely be tighter than the current polls suggest - just as polling 10 weeks before the last vote was way off.

[Sorry 78 days, 22 hours and 14 minutes before the vote..]
