    NO groups this time around

With Decco off the stage there seems to be a vacuum on the NO side. The yes side has the full weight of the establishment behind it and oodles of cash. On the NO we seem to have Higgins, the Shinners, assorted "peace" groups and a farrago of loony lefties. There are many centrists or right wingers who seem to have no where to go on this one if they want to help out.

I think that really says it all. The extremists who have been traditionally against EU Treaties are against this one. Noone else is.

... Apart from the majority of the electorate in almost every European country.

Ah yes - so we can stop having elections, and simply ask Charlie McCreevy the result? Unless you're willing to take the word of McCreevy based on his "authority" as a Commissioner and ex-Finance Minister - and I somehow doubt as a general rule that you do - I suggest that either you or he needs to provide some of that old-fashioned evidence stuff.

You don't trust the politicians until it suits you to do so is basically what you're saying. And when it suits you their word is proof of what at least 150-200 million people think. What more can I say really....

Well we seem to have forgone the asking the public about things (except for here were it appears we'll just keep asking until they give the answer we want) so why not just ask Charlie.

Since when did that happen? Isn't all this Lisbon debate about the Government asking the people? Aren't we due to have a referendum in October? So isn't this poinjt just complete fiction?

In case I'm not mistaken all Member States are democracies and all function based on their democratically approved Constitutions. Now I understand that you're not willing to respect other Member States Constitutional provisions re the Treaties, but then that is your failing not theirs.
