Yes "civil society" groups funded by IBEC and other major corporations

Get a copy of the latest phoenix mag (July 3-16). It makes the allegation in absolutely explicit language. The yes "civil society" groups are as i suspected fronts for the usual suspects of IBEC and co.
If this isnt true will any of these groups sue the great magazine or at least demand a retraction. I can see why donations to these groups are treated with the "strictest of confidence".

All this is normal. Public money is safely channelled through hefty subs from government departments and other reliable quangos.

The best organisation to support if you want to be sure no taxpayers money is spent is TEFL - Tax Exiles for Lisbon.

Not suprising really - its in IBEC's interest(half its members are on various state boards) to prop up FF, ex- PD's and the rest of the rotten Irish estaiblishment

No doubt the unbiased Irish Times will investigate and smear just as thoroughly as they did with Ganley

I'm sorry, but wasn't everyone's favourite No side campaign group funded by a major telecommunications corporation?

What irritates me is the implicit suggestion that NO voters are somehow on the outside of this "civil society" and therefore uncivil or "uncivic".

Will they sue phoenix magazine? If not we can only assume truth in the allegations.

They are fronts for FF. Olivia Buckley, director of "We Belong" was FF's director of communications from 2002-7 and her uncle is a FF councillor in Ferbane. Meanwhile, "Women for Europe" was formed by Olive Braiden, a former FF candidate in the 1994 Euro elections. They're not fooling anyone.
