Yes Side needs Joe the Plumber

If the Yes side are going to win the referendum then they need an authentic 'working class hero' to sell their message. A Joe the Plumber type that can tell it like it is and can connect with the cohort of people that are suffering during the current economic crisis.

The more the political class, grandees, captains of industry and farmers call for a yes , the more they will alienate the ODVs ( ordinary decent voters).

No one springs to mind to fulfill that role but if they want to win the Yes Side better find him / her pretty quickly.

Not sure Joe the Plumber was either a plumber or particularly successful! Ask John McCain!

I nominate europeasone. His plain-spoken, straight-talking attitude could win anyone over.
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.

The Yesmen have Michael O'Leary who won't allow unions in Ryanair

and who just laid off a few hundred workers. Does he count?

Or how about Peter Sutherland, director of BP?

Turlough O'Sullivan of IBEC? Yesmen are the cream of capitalism.

Bertie is yer original working class hero, - according to him and his mates anyways.

    Rehabilitate Bertie.

    The EU deserves nothing less.
