Lisbon postcard to be sent to households: Martin

The Department of Foreign Affairs is to send a postcard to every household in the State explaining the legal guarantees secured by the Government in relation to the Lisbon Treaty.

I wonder how they are going to get both sides of the argument on one postcard? Of course the answer is that they will not. I suspect Patricia McKenna will be issuing proceedings before long.

I know people told me on this forum that the McKenna case for public subsidies was valid only during the official campaign.

    But yet.........

This is crying out for a p.ie competition.

What picture would you put on the back of the postcard?

I've read it and it is grossly misleading. For example, it doesn't distinguish between the "legal guarantees" and "assurances". We are not told which are which. But they needn't worry - the no side is doing that for them. The Irish people have a nice little October surprise in store for Fianna Fáil and the Greens.

Anybody wanna call that number and see what they have to say about it?
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

Why would they have anything from the No side on it? FF are utilising their own funds to push their own message. There is nothing wrong with that.

    Really?

Then why is it issued under the authority and with the logo of the DFA?
