Is Postcards the best they can do??

    No referendum commission
No National Forum on Europe open to debate the issues
No Changes to the Treaty -
They wont send us the Treaty, they wont send us the anticipated wording of the protocol which could make the commitments in the EU Member states heads last week!

The best the bright minds in government can do is to send us all a postcard?

and get some celebrities to endorse the treaty and ah sure they will vote yes then...

So you are correct, the legal advice of the EU is wrong, the 27 sovereign countries' legal advices are wrong, plus the 1969 UN Vienna Convention is also wrong?

Whatever mind warping drugs you are on, are certainly working.
He is correct actually. The postcard had lies about neutrality and enthuasia in it. (And abortion if you consider that "Ireland" extends to the six counties.)

You either vote Yes to the Lisbon-plus-guarantees-plus-Commissioner package, or you vote No to that package.

As a country, we've never voted on Lisbon itself, only on the amendments necessary to allow the government to ratify it, so I'm not sure why this totemic insistence on things being in the text of Lisbon - surely not a stalling/FUD tactic?
Will that be on the ballot paper?

None of the "reasons" used to drum up the "guarantees" had any bearing on my initial No vote, and seeing as the Treaty hasn't changed one iota, the second vote will also be No.

The phrase "voting on Lisbon" is a convention that is used by most, specially by politicians, seeing as "voting in a referendum to change the Irish Constitution to allow the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty" is a bit cumbersome.

Which is fair enough. I'm only bothered by the hysterical insistence that 26 countries are engaged in publicly blowing their reputations out of the water on the off-chance they might fool patriotic No voters into a moment's insanity. Some people need to remember that the centre of the Universe is a good way distant from here.

Ah well, politicians. Shouldn't really be allowed anything more complex than a toaster, really, and I'm only allowing them that in the hopes they might poke it with a knife.

I have an old but working toaster, should I send it to them? Will even supply a knife with it. A butter knife for "safety", they might cut themselves.

As long as it's all metal. Before you send the toaster, put something like half a scone in and get it jammed...
