From that link in the OP

Without Europe, Ireland’s export industry will die, Liam Shanahan, chief executive of the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) has warned.

No but clearly misinformed - no wonder our export industry is fooked. They seem to think its a referendum on our membership of the EU: "Without Europe, Ireland’s export industry will die, Liam Shanahan, chief executive of the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) has warned." However, it is actually a referendum on the type of EU we want. Silly.

Our exporters are idiots. No wonder we are screwed. I cannot believe how utterly stupid this article is.

His argument is that EU membership is crucial to exports. I agree, and will be voting no. The EU membership will continue. This has nothing to do with the Lisbon Treaty. We're voting on the contents of Lisbon, not EU membership. And I think this man should ballot his members on the actual treaty. Of course 96% of his members support EU membership. I support EU membership. But that is not what we are voting on. He's addressing the wrong issue. And yea - as chief executive he is an "elite". He hasn't ballotted his members on the Lisbon Treaty itself, preferring to cite their support for EU membership.

It's not good enough any more to say "EU membership is good - therefore we should vote yes". We are voting on a Treaty. The elites are repeating the nonsense of Lisbon I, which consists of such rhetoric.
