A friend gave me a book a while back titled the wisdom of crowds, or something to that effect. It gave examples from history and some minor anecdotes of an agrarian nature to show that the people when consulted on a problem usually came up with the right answer by taking the most common number of solutions/answers proposed. For example the author showed how some man went around the fairs of England in the 18th century to discover that games which involved guessing the weight of something, usually showed the greatest number of people coming up with the correct answer. There were I assure you more sophisticated examples, which as we know gave birth to focus groups being used by political parties and large corporations.
Now I know some of you might well argue the opposite that democracy can be wrong, the dangers of the mob, etc, but bearing in mind the fact that the book dealt with problem solving let's see if anti lisbon posters here can solve what will be a very difficult problem. Can Lisbon II be won? And if so how?
Let's be honest first of all the European election results were not good for us and morale is low. Yeh I know you can say it was not a factor, that people were focussed on giving FF and the Greens a kick up the arse, that we reverted to tribal political loyalites, but we have lost two articulate voices, MLMc and kathy Sinnott, we have returned only one anti Lisbon MEP, when we could have had four, (whatever you might think of them on some issues), Libertas flopped, Ganley is gone, and the main Political parties are cock a hoop that the fear factor, the economy stupid, will see the masses return in droves to the Yes side.
So lets hear it. What is the best strategy? Who should be the main voices? What new voices might be out there? What are the best slogans? What should we avoid? What should we not do? How can we raise money for the cause? How can we create the big Mo?
Come on show us the wisdom of the No Crowd.
