I wonder will this excuse be used in other jurisdictions?

Germany - not running candidates here because there are enough anti-Lisbon incumbents
Sweden - not bribing any parties here because there are already anti-Lisbon incumbents
Czech Republic - not forging any more signatures here because there are already a number of anti-Lisbon incumbents

What a load of piss from Future Taoiseach - as usual. If not wanting to take on an anti-lisbon incumbent was the reason for not running in Dublin, then Libertas would be leaving three quarters of Europe free of Libertas candidates.

The reasons for the sluggishness in Dublin are simple: 1) fear of being hammered, and 2) pathetic candidate

So much for the pan-European umbrella/European political party (depending on what side of the bed FT wakes up on...)

Libertas in Germany seem confident they will be running candidates in June.

Sweden - not bribing any parties here because there are already anti-Lisbon incumbents
There are no plans not to run candidates in Sweden.

Czech Republic - not forging any more signatures here because there are already a number of anti-Lisbon incumbents
We are running a full list of candidates in the Czech Republic.

He's wrong. Like I said, go ask your "informed" friends who we're running in Dublin.

The German election authorities who approved the lists of parties on 10th April don't seem to share that confidence.

Libertas Sverige hasn't registered any ballot for the Swedish elections to the European Parliament in 2009.

What are libertas' policys? Ive emailed Libertas a number of times since December asking if they have a policy document / manifesto and if not, when will they be publishing one.

I have not received a single reply from them.

They do and they will. Happy?

No, I guess you won't me.

But as for me, with my roundy belly and by rosy red cheeks and distinguished greying hair I'm the most happy looking chap you'll see.

Maybe you should ask your reliable informants who the Dublin Libertas candidate is.
Why is it our fault that your party won't disclose its candidates?

Yes, because we're going to put a big "?" on the ballot paper. And then reveal our candidate when the votes are case, it's all a big surprise!

The candidate hasn't launch yes, when the candidate launches then you'll know who it is. It's the order of how things work.

    Prior launch - don't know.
    Post launch - do know.

It's very simple, just like mccafferty cat. So there ought to be some common ground there. But he has "reliably informed" friends to tell him these things, if he wants to know who out candidate is prior to their launch I suggested he ask them.

Libertas don't have a policy of down with Europe. They the most European party anywhere in Europe, and the the only party everwhere in Europe. They seem to the only ones concernced with inefficiency and corruption and have any policies to rectify it. Most others are happy to just stay on the gravy train. And why wouldn't they, sure don't we pay them enough to get away with it.
