Bring on Brussels and all its Beurocracy and the germans I say!!! Ive lived there and they have a proper Public Transport System and Modern Schools without damp and rats and nobody waiting on trolleys in their A&E's !
We'll still be stuck with the gombeens.

As a No voter I think that is the most convincing Yes argument. But I do believe we are capable of political reform and there is a growing belief that the system needs to be changed.

There is nothing about us that makes us incapable of good government but we need to re-cast our politics urgently.

If it comes down to quality of government, you should be voting to join Canada, Norway or Singapore.

I've gone to 4 protest marches and some debates during this year already - I dont see ANYTHING changing and its because for some messed up or self centred reason, there is still 23% of the population EVEN NOW who will still vote FF!!!!! How do you change that when even a dog could see what useless scumbags they are!!
How do you think anything is going to change when we don't have an election yet? When we do have an election don't vote for the gombeens - or better still, run for election yourself! it's simple.

However, if your looking for change right now, like I mean in the next couple of months, your vote my friend, would be best spent on a NO.

The EU will come back around (it always does) and things continue to function in it as they do now, so no sky falling in.
However vote yes and your guaranteed at least another 2 years of gombeens robbing you and every other man, woman and child in this country.

    Think about it.

Whilst the title of the OP is a bit strong, I agree with the substance in that Ireland has improved 100 fold since we joined the EU. The EU has massive faults of course but we were the only country in this part of the world that was run by kiddie fvck1ing sky fairy worshippers and now we resemble in many respects a western society.

Yeah sure, NAMA Roddy Molloy Seanie Fitz etc. but at last these outrages are recognized as such by many and being openly discussed; in the 60s all outrage was successfully redirected on the ultimate strawman: The Brits. The systems here get more transparent all the time and I fear that will go backwards if we fall into the second tier of Europe.

    That's why I'm voting Yes.

The strawman won't go away as long as the gombeen is in power, it just changes, Brussels is as good a strawman as the brits ever were.

Don't agree at all. EVERYBODY here hated the Brits and blamed them for everything whilst the Irish robbed one another and raped one another's kids.

Only the fringe loonies actually hate the EU, the majority have mixed feelings which is understandable.

FF are gone sooner or later and we will have to pick up the pieces whether it's 2 months, 1 year or 2. They have already banked their ill gotten gains, we just have to say 'never again' and mean it this time!

[QUOTE=Retrolives;2150269]The corruption in the EU is a paradise our politicians only dream of. Its taken to a whole new level. Sure all our politicians are scum but Europe its no different, if not on a whole new level worse. The entire EU cabinet are convicted criminals:

    (a) there's no such thing as an EU cabinet
