Mtd i accept there are some unpleasant people on the no side. The yes side can hardly throw stones in fairness. You might note how our political class have benefitted from europe: brussels funds cemented the dominance of FF and fg and have held back the development of new parties. Labour have only emerged as a real force by consenting to the brussels game and taking orders from the pes and getting the vast funding to allow them to mix it with the big two. On top of all this irish politicians and bureaucrats have got plum and cushy jobs.
I must also say that the personal attacks on me on this thread have proved my point!
Leaving out the other, wilder, ideas there - how many Irish politicians and bureaucrats? And how much do these 'plum' European jobs earn compared to the plum jobs available in the Dáil and quangoland?
I think you'll find, if you actually bother to look, that the answer to the first question is "a very small number" (currently approximately 2), and the answer to the latter is "less". Our Taoiseach earns more than the President of the US, and you think Irish politicians go to Europe for money - instead of only when they're forced out of domestic politics.
Pull the other one, sunshine, it has bells on.
Never let the best be the enemy of the good.
They were right to use personal attacks, typically the anti-EU crowd are psychopaths.
