Willie shoots from the Hip: early Lisbon poll under active discussion - decision soon

Looks like we are going sooner rather than later with Lisbon II

Willie has just let the cat out of the bag on RTE.

Man the decks lads and prepare for Battle!

Looks like they are being told what to do by the Darth Varder of the whole project:

'IRELAND SHOULD hold a second Lisbon Treaty referendum in late April, or early May – and not October, the former French president Valéry Giscard d’Estaing has said.

An October referendum – the Government’s preferred choice for now – would occur “at the moment when the new European Commission will be chosen for a five-year term.

“Until the Irish answer, people will not know whether it is to be 17, or 27, so there will be confusion,” he told The Irish Times yesterday.

Such a stunt would backfire badly on the Government.

for practical and economic reasons, it should be held on the same day as the locals...

Might be FF's last throw of the dice to try to tie FG and Labour into getting off their backs in the run up to June with the "sure we're all the same really" line
