poll : 68% to vote no to lisbon two

    according to todays herald AM.

it was a text poll responding to the question "how will you vote on the second lisbon treaty referendum?"

    the result 68% NO.

as its a text poll its about as scientific as necromancy. but it IS the first time ive seen a media organ actually bother its arse to ASK the question of the public and it has strong similarities to the one we had here asking voters if they'd switch camps in the meantime (if memory serves a good 10% of yes voters said they'd switch to no on democratic grounds) which would put the next NO in the high 60 percentile bracket.

also its in line with the strong opinions expressed in its OTHER poll a few weeks ago asking if we should be even HAVING another vote on lisbon at all - which IIRC came in at a 71% NO result.

are they on to something or do most people here just text the herald AM

    any thoughts?

It was a text poll; enough said.

Are we not overdue a poll?

Since it is a text poll, it suggests that No voters are more motivated. Given that it costs a few cent to text into the poll, No voters must feel stronger about the question than Yes voters. This would therefore suggest a split between firm-No and soft-Yes. Not a good sign for the Yes side.

Problem with text polls is people like me, who have access to several phones, can vote as often as they want.

Did the exact same poll with a class of 15 yr olds (n=26) last week and got as result that 99% would vote yes. Can you add that to the title of your thread, or should I start another meaningless poll thread?

Whats encouraging about this is that the no side remain very committed to the cause. There will be a big no in october, hopefully big enough.

Where is FutureTaoiseach? In his absence, can I speak on his behalf?

This poll shows conclusively that a second referendum is doomed to defeat. The elites will get their just desserts next October when the visionary leadership of Declan Ganley will sweep away their eurocratic eurofederalist dreams.

Its outrageous that the people have been asked their opinion in this poll. They were asked in June, and they should never be asked again.
