I've always suspected that the IDA never wanted to "urge" a yes vote but were given little choice in the matter.

It does not say "No negative reaction", it says "little negative reaction".

you may be right, we will never no that! But either way, their representation to the Oireachtas committee is surely based on facts and figures. that would be difficult to dispute if thats the case! obviously i wasnt in the room so i dont know if it is their opinion or facts but i think it reasonable to assume they were able to back it up whatever they said! Still think it shows up the YES side that a lot of it was scaremongering! so was the no side. but treaties should be passed on merit, not scare tactics!

OK, actually it says both. From the article:-

The IDA has said that it has suffered little negative impact as a result of this country's rejection of the Lisbon Treaty.

fair enough, it does say that but its much of a muchness...i still think it blows holes in the scaremongering in the yes argument (whether its no negative impact or little negative impact!) Holy God we were lead to believe almost that the sky would fall in and that companies would pull out!

Don't worry about the Europhiles (West Brussels?) who are going to say anything to push the "Yes" vote. If the negative impact is that "little", it must be close to nonexistent. But we ought to boot Germany out of the EU just to make sure.
