IBEC posters paid by IBEC. Parties yes posters with leaders face on them, paid by the party. Posters with other candidates faces, paid by the candidates. MEPs posters subsidised by EU grouping.

The EU funds some small think tanks, but see any of them out in the campaigns. None of the parties anyway would have gotten money directly from the EU.

During the referendum the EU spent a lot of money online explaining aka advertising the Lisbon treaty, they ran information evenings, constant opinion polls and god knows what else, this all costs a lot of money, my question is how much?

So the EU explaining itself during a referendum on an EU treaty - is simply to be counted as "Yes spending"? Under whose rules?

Was it explaining it Yes or explaining it No?

No rules against it but it is sinister that the EU would be spending money promoting the Lisbon treaty in a member state that is holding a referendum campaign, as it is interference and not very democratic.
But anyway I would like to know how much the EU spent during the Lisbon referendum campaign "explaining" the Lisbon treaty and exactly what they have and are doing to "explain" or promote a yes vote even now.

I would like the alliance for europe to explain themselves. They spent the guts of a million quid. Who are they backed by? IBEC? Brussels?

How does silly posters saying "together" or something count as explaining itself?
