Large majority happy with Lisbon No vote: Poll

In what is a startling reversal for the Yes camp some 54% are happy with the Lisbon No vote, 35% are dissatisfied and 11% unsure. Even worse for the Yes camp is that 9% of Yes voters are happy with the result indicating that the Yes vote was a somewhat 'soft' vote. 61% claim to have voted compared to the actual 53%.

SF and Libertas get the credit for the No vote and the IFA gets a very negative rating.

This will put the kibosh on talk about a Lisbon 2 for a while.

There is loads more data in the article.

And so it should be. The only "crisis" is in the heads of the elites. These findings suggest that the govt will have an uphill struggle to overturn the no vote. The fact that Libertas comes in the top 2 in terms of influence in the vote is interesting and confirms that the yes side's smear-tactics did and will not work.

In fact the correlation between No voters and those who thought that No vote might be bad for Ireland and Europe indicates that the scare tactics in the last week did not deter No voters who seemed to have made a very concious decision irrespective of the consequences.

Note how the Times have not put the poll on the front page. If the poll conclusions were that No voters wanted to be horsewhipped in front of the EU Commission offices in penetance for what they had done you can be damn sure the Times would have had it up in lights.

I'm not sure if you're referring to me or not, but if you are, a cursory trawl of my posts will quickly disabuse you of that notion.

No I wasn't, just referring to the two good news stories.

61% claim to have voted compared to the actual 53%? Were 8% of people disenfranchised or is this just a skewed sample?
