RTE last ditch efforts to save Lisbon treaty

Is it just me or is RTE still trying to hold out for a re-run of the Lisbon 'incident'.

Newstalk reported at 9.44 (http://newstalk.ie/newstalk/news/9693/c ... sbon.html#) that Pat Carey said a second vote wouldn't achieve anything but this story still hasn't made it onto RTe news or website.

Has the tax payer funded broadcaster decided to come clean on its biased stance?

I also noticed a disproportionate number of "No to get back at the Government" texts being read out by Pat Kenny today. This is to instill the impression of a protest vote as opposed an properly informed No to Lisbon one. Well Pat, you know that isn't true. Fianna Fail's approval rating was steady at the final opinion poll even as the momentum switched to the No side.
Marxists, Feminists and Leftists operate on the basis of "liberating tolerance" - i.e. their ideas should be tolerated, and any opposition should be suppressed.

OK, 53% of the electorate voted. Of these, 53% voted "NO".

There is always a rump of ~ 20% deluded nutters who are anti EU. That leaves ~ 35% of the electorate who either a) voted No because they are either too thick to understand the treaty information or are too lazy to read up on it. b) They believe SF or libertas, or "COIR", c) Want to give the government a kicking, might actually like the idea of EUROPE, but hate the Govt more.. d) Feel the entire EU has such a democratic deficit that it has to be stopped because if the remaininig 99% of the population could vote, they'd all vote "NO".

We can take it as read that no-one in the "NO" camp trusts the govt. I think the protest vote (c & d) account for at least 2/3rds of the 35% non-tinfoil hat brigade.

So it is a significant constituency

They also keep rabbiting on about us being out on a limb , alone against the entire EU , when in fact eight or nine other countries have still to ratify Lisbon . "A week in politics" yesterday done a vox pop in brussels , they showed three belgians , all of whom were disappointed with our no vote . Bunch of jokers .
