Can I formally complain about RTE pro-Yes bias?

I would like to make a complaint about the fact that on the day of the count significant figures in RTE 1 Radio, notably Pat Kenny and the Drivetime programme completely lost the run of themselves and openly expressed visceral anger and contempt at the way that the referendum was clearly going. Does anyone know what is the best way of going about this? Is there a watchdog body that oversees broadcasting and ensures some modicum of impartiality is maintained?? All helpful advice gratefully receieved...and if others wish to do likewise, please feel free to follow suit.

    Yes you can.

Find the long thread on Logging Pro-Yes bias in the media. It has acres of examples of bias. Check it out, and if you want, use some of them as part of your complaint.

http://www.bcc.ie for details of how and who to contact. It might also be worth asking the RTE authority to account for its stewardship. They are ultimately responsible for what was a betrayal of the ideal of independence and objectivity in the media, one of the pillars of any democratic system.

Waste of time. RTE are neither independent nor objective politically. They are the mouthpiece of FF as will be seen in the run up to any election. You only noticed it this time because you were the victim. Ask Michael Noonan about RTE's impartiality.

Not a waste of time imo. Let's put them to the trouble of defending the indefensible.

Here it is. There is a more recent thread on media coverage of the result - go back a couple of pages in the Lisbon forum for it.

Reich Television Europe was heavily stacking debating panels with pro-Lisbon figures for much of the campaign. This is unacceptable and the case for a new McKenna judgement is clear. I hope the "No" people take RTE to court.

I sent Peter Feeney an angry email and got a reply making excuses like how when there are multiple topics under discussion balance is not always possible.
