Ah, so it was embarassment was the reason that so many yes voters voted as they did. What a pathetic excuse.
Try to keep up. Its a desire to keep involvement combined with a sense of embarrasment. Plus the economy. As opposed to "couldnt be arsed to find out/ petrols too dear/ i dont want abortion/ fishings very hard/ i dont like cowan/ fek off and dont be telling me what to do"

As for polls, the one that counts is the one last Thursday. Opinion polls are meaningless. The people have voted and voted NO. Like it or lump it. The reaction of the EU since that democratic vote only confirms all my concerns about the underlying anti-democratic nature of the EU and the direction tehy want to take us
No - this sort of data is critical to understand such that it also will serve to limit the use of the general "NO" by neo-Nazis, Cathofacists, Sinn Fein and other minor "NO" siders. I voted YES but I respect people that voted NO and also accept that the majority of NO voters would not align themselves with these nutbags in other circumstances. In addition, this information also demonstrates that 30% did not know what they were voting for, which is the data that tells the Political establishment it f**ked up big time.

Reasons 2 and 3 show we as a nation need to go back to basics and learn how the EU actually works as a) we cannot "unbecome" neutral without a national consensus and b) the EU will always be a group of sovereign states.

Reason 4 is another clear message to the political establishment that its tactis were completely wrong, arrogant and full of hubris.

Reason 5 is also something we as a nation need to get over - market forces, i.e., cheap labour, copying our tax regime etc. will give these nations more power, as it did for us over the past 20 years. We need to get over this by refocussing on what we do next as manufacturing is going or gone and the EU cannot help that - our Government has the message from this that they must now clearly explain how we will envision the Ireland of the next 15 years.

One thing for sure - it will be within the EU, with the Euro as our currency - no level of Euro skepticism will change that.

That first question was obviously written by a cretin. I would have preferred to see the "/not to embarrass Ireland" out of there" to get at cleaner information, i.e., not to embarass Ireland on a separate line, which, in fact it is in questions 6 and 7.
