Look, no matter what accusations or explanations can be levelled by various parties with regards to the outcome of the referendum, it is the clear wish of the Irish People that our country not ratify the Lisbon Treaty and that should be respected.
My congratulations to Sinn Fein. While I'd view the rest of the NO camp with suspicion or derision, the Shinners can't be accused of straying from message. With a certain European election next year, I'm sure there's hope that Mary-Lou McDonald's seat is more secure than maybe it was after the General Election.

So, much like Earth and Mars, why can't we just... get along? Let's stop the fussin' and the feudin', keep our heads and adopt a civil tone to both victors and losers in this plebiscite.
