RTE news website decides on a new description for someone it clearly does not approve of:
In a publicity stunt, Libertas chairman and US military contractor Declan Ganley said....
Presumably an attempt to get a reaction?

'To attempt to rerun a referendum as a means of reversing the democratic decision taken by the people would be rightly regarded as an affront'. Dick Roche TD 21.12.01
But he is a US military contractor, he's chair of Rivada Networks a US defense contractor.Originally Posted by Helium Three

Then so is Peter Sutherland unless the US military boycott BP.

It wont be too long when you're right or wrong!
Sorry Rocky, you don't want to give a misleading impression now, do you?
Rivada's a communications company that deals with public safety organisations - basically homeland security forces and first responders.

I don't see what revelance Peter Sutherland links with different groups, has to do with Gangley's anyway.

Does that make anyone who has done work for them in turn a military sub-contractor cos that makes for some strange bedfellows indeed.Originally Posted by Rocky

It's beyond reasonable doubt at this point, last week he was introduced as 'the controversial businessman' Declan Ganley on the top item on the One O'Clock News. There were two yes politicians on the Week in Politics last night, and no-one else. I'm paying my license fee to people to promote an agenda I oppose. Before I'm accused of paranoia, I am not bothered about the Irish Times slant, for example, they are what they are and don't hide it. RTE, on the other hand, is a disgrace.
And specialises in military telecom systems.Originally Posted by David Cochrane

That's grossly misleading and you know it. Rivada's work is in emergency disaster relief and they assisted the US National Guard in the cleanup after Hurricane Katrina. To call Ganley a US military contractor on that basis is blatent twisting border on lies.Originally Posted by Rocky
RTE are blatently biased towards the yes side and have driven a coach and horses through the McKenna judgement. It is a scandal that our taxes are paying for political propaganda like this.
