English are telling us to vote NO.

It would seem the English are telling us what to do again.

Well they have to do something, seeing as they didn't get the referendum they were promised.

France's glitterati in power want us to vote Yes.

Jamie Smyth Irish Times June 7

An Irish No would be a disaster for the upcoming French presidency of the union, which is due to start in July. Paris has an ambitious legislative agenda and wants to oversee the appointment of several top EU jobs. All this would be placed on hold if the treaty is rejected, ruining Sarkozy's opportunity to shine on the European stage.

Guess we will just have to make our own minds up.

Further, hiker doesn't mention that the Guardian supported a Yes vote. I assume he wants them to butt out too?

Anyway, for completion, here is what the UK edition of the Sunday Times says

The massed ranks of the Irish Establishment lined up in smug anticipation of a resounding victory for the “yes” campaign. Brussels regarded the referendum as a mere diversion, confident that Irish voters would apply the rubber stamp in the appropriate place. Even the bookies thought there was more chance of a Shergar winning the Derby.

Whatever happens this week, those cosy assumptions have been thrown out of the window. Alone among the Irish media, this newspaper, which is one of the biggest selling broadsheets in the republic, argued the case for a no vote. The latest opinion poll, showing the no camp in the lead (although admittedly with a large number of “don’t knows”) has alarmed the Establishment. Could it be that Irish voters will do the right thing, which happens to be the exact opposite of what Brussels wants?

More significantly, the Irish edition has also today explicitly called for a No vote. The ST is doing democracy a service by providing an alternative viewpoint to the rest of the media and political establishment

What if a French paper called for a No vote?

Or what about The Guardian that wants us to say Yes?

Did the Brits vote 'Yes' to anything to do with Europe?
