    The people of Spain and Luxembourg seem to be forgotten or dismissed entirely
    Stand for election or get yourself selected as a candidate. Failing that, manage a successful campaign. Then you can come the big man anywhere. Not before.

    Yes indeed. You see the Treaty will need to be passed by all 27 states so the Yeses are of very little account. The Nos are what matter. For example you didn't read in today's Irish Times that yesterday the Dutch Parliament passed the treaty by a large majority, after a similar large majority of citizens had rejected it. But I don't suppose you were surprised, either at the action of the Dutch parliament or the Irish Times.
