Regrettably, the request for a European-wide referendum has not been fulfilled but national referendums can clearly not be seen as a satisfactory substitute.
The Greens in the European Parliament support the Treaty of Lisbon as a further step in the European constitutional process. It is a compromise, and in many ways an unsatisfactory one, however it is indispensable and represents a step forward.

I've added in the GUE/NGL group only because Kathy Sinnot's leaflets appear to come from there.

Oh how wonderful -vote No to Lisbon and support the massacre of innocent people in Omagh.

    No thanks[/quote:12un5621]

I somehow sensed that the innocents of Omagh only matter to people like yourself if they afford you the opportunity to exploit them for cheap gain. Well done!

Add the IWU, Independent Workers Union to the NO column..
I understand they are campaigning actively on the issue.
    Also
On the ICTU vote remember that SIPTU and other Unions abstained.
This means that Beggs and Co did NOt speak for the Trade Union movement as a whole.

    Re: List of Yes/No organisations

I thought the SIPTU position was odd to say the least. They make a public call on the government to issue a certain guarantee in return for their support for a Yes vote. The guarantee is not forthcoming and SIPTU issue a statement saying that they would like to push for a Yes vote. Did I misread this?
