    Harney vs Ganley Debate

Does anyone really think it will happen?

Libertas chief welcomes debate with Harney

    06/06/2008 - 9:18:00 AM

Libertas chairman Declan Ganley has said he would be "delighted to accept" a challenge by Health Minister Mary Harney to a debate on the economic implications of the Lisbon Treaty.

Ms Harney issued the challenge this morning.

"I would be delighted to debate Mary Harney, at any time, and any place," he said.

"As we approach polling day, we need to have a full debate on the potentially disastrous implications of Lisbon for inward investment into this country. If anybody wishes to facilitate such a discussion, they can count me in."

Nope, I have no idea what came over the minister issuing this challenge. Some interesting subterfuge will be employed to get her out of this particular gaff.

Shouldn't Harney stick to trying to sort out the health service? Fat chance!
