True, if it were Ireland's loss. But the Commissioner that happens to be Irish is not there batting for Ireland, but the general European interest, as per TEU Article 17:Like, we will lose a commissioner. For five out of 15 years Ireland will be without a voice at the Commission. The response from the Yes lobby -- that all countries will suffer the same fate -- is hardly a reason for approving Ireland's loss.
1. The Commission shall promote the general interest of the Union and take appropriate initiatives to that end.
