    Absolute b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t.

Your deluded fantasies are running riot at this stage.

What he means by 'no obvious benefit' is perfectly simple. In the past people could sell treaties by saying 'vote yes and get billions from Europe'. Now the benefits are less physically tangeable. People won't physically see a Dail committee discussing EU legislation unless they stay up til midnight to watch Oireachtas Report. They won't be following changes in how the Council functions. The benefits are real but not as visible as when you could see a new road being built, etc thanks to EU money.

Your posts and fantasies beggar belief, FT.
Oh come on. This is the man who described the no to Nice as a "remarkably healthy development". I think we can see where he's really coming from.
    Yes, he's a democrat.
Unlike the rest of the government in 2001?

McCreevy has always had a healthily sceptical approach to the EU. Not opposed, but questioning. Good to see he hasn't gone native in Brussels, though I suppose there was never a chance he would

"no obvious benefits to Irish people"

Not everyone votes on the basis of personal gain.

Why shouldnt we? If we don't look out for our interests, who else will?

I, and many others, voted Yes to Nice 2 on the basis that we were helping out the East European countries who wanted to join the EU. For that reason, and that reason only.

This time, we're voting for Ireland

You might tell that to these people:

This is simply a report of a radio interview...drivetime I think. I heard it and he was jsut been his usual self no evidence he supports it but he doesn't go for all the FF bullsh*&t so fair enough. The Yes side does have to work hard and they've all said it here

Quite true. A minority of voters vote in a way that is not on the basis of personal gain.
The MAJORITY do, it's a human trait.
