Jens Peter Bonde on Morning Ireland - "definitely Vote No"

Jens Peter Bonde was just on Morning Ireland from about 8:53am to 9am and was pretty emphatic about the diminished Influence that the Lisbon Treaty would bring into effect if passed.
Alan Dukes was also on but Bonde described how it would adversely affect Ireland and Denmark by diminishing the role of smaller countries...
when pushed by Cathal on how he would vote if the referendum was in Demmark he stated that he would "definitely Vote NO" ..

    Jens Peter Bonde
    MEP since 1979- just retired.
    (the longest serving MEP.)
Head of Democratic Europe group in EP.

And Bonde knows more about the EU than the entire Oireachtas put together.

Heres his dictionary of EU speak http://en.euabc.com/

heard this myself. they seem to have a fair bit of respect for the guy which is a change of pace from the "nutter" label RTE usually stick on the no camp.

dukes didnt come off that well though. maybe its too early in the morning but he seemed abit tetchy. interesting to see the interviewer had to force the guy to say which way he'd vote and had to resort to asking him if he had it in denmark what would he do.

nice change from the barroso line of opinion

Yay for Jens. Maybe hearing it from an ex-MEP will make our right to choice and a free un-influenced vote more obvious.

Eurosceptic MEP calls for 'No' vote. How is this news?

It's every bit as much news as an inarticulate TD like Dick Roche attacking the no side, because he can't make a coherent argument in favour.

thats allowed in a democracy where people are both "capable and qualified" to make up their own minds without being dictated to by "their betters"
apologies for not always blindly towing the line that you think i should sheepishly follow

Interesting how the "No" side portrays any European politician making an argument for a "Yes" vote on Lisbon as interference in Ireland's internal political affairs yet when a Eurosceptic politician intervenes in favor of the "No" side, it's fair comment.
    Average expenses per TD in 2011:- FG €36,412, Lab €28,756, FF €45,219, SF €44,413, SP €23,654, PBP €31,866, WUAG €49,911, IND €37,805, CC €13,112.

    And vice-versa, of course.
