    Rivada & SIPO

According to the Irish Times today most of the Libertas staff work for the company Rivada. There are differing versions from differing people at differing times as to how this works. However it would seem that any substantial work done by the employees of a company for a campaign group is a donation in kind and needs to be declared under the relevant legislation. Rivada is not registered with the SIPO to the best of my knowledge. It is unclear whether Rivada as a foreign body can make a donation or register, I don't know how having an Irish arm here impacts on this

Could somebody throw light on this...please don't say Libertas will conform with all legislation as this question only partly concerns them. What is the role of Rivada in this campaign?

The Executive Director of Libertas works for Rivada according to the Times

It's all a bit of a muddle...I'm sure somebody here has a clear answer...one that accords with the law of the land and SIPO guidelines

this is just ridiculous how can they possibly claim to be working by sipo rules now if they have been for rivida.
What does the Irish President spend their time doing. Work in progress

It's nothing to do with double jobbing, if Rivada pay the salary and they spend more than a few hours working for Libertas then Rivada is a donor, this seems to cause legal problems if the are not Irish, even if they are this must be declared. It seems somewhat improbable that the Libertas campiagn is being organised in somebodies spare time ?

Do the election spending/third party restrictions apply to referenda? If so, are Libertas in breach of them and if they are make a complaint, otherwsie this is a non-story.
We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know.

They work for Rivada, and donate their time to Libertas. This wouldn't make Rivada a donor.

I'm not sure about that. If employees of company A (owned by Joe Bloggs) 'donated' their time to company B (also owned by Joe Bloggs), I imagine the Revenue would determine that they were employees of company B, paid by company A.
