It's the part of the No campaign that gets attention because of their anxiety to get their rosaries on women's ovaries, and very little else can be more emotive or have a greater impact on individuals' rights than those who would force their morals on everyone else.
Stand for election or get yourself selected as a candidate. Failing that, manage a successful campaign. Then you can come the big man anywhere. Not before.
if Abortion was going to be legalised in Lisbon then fine they could campaign on that , but its not . Alot of the issues the far right are campaigning on is a load of BS i just hope voters can see past it to see the real reasons people should be voting no

This abortion myth needs to be debunked in the clearest terms, it is being put out there at the moment by Libertas, Coir and Eire Go Brach among others - we on the YES side are not the only ones that acknowledge it has nothing to do with this debate Joe Higgins - one of the leading NO campaigners has also said this. I wish more on the NO side could take their lead from Joe and debate this treaty based on facts and not scaremonger the electorate based on lies around a highly emotive issue but unfortunately the libertas/coir/eire go brach coalition seem to want to do the direct opposite on this issue, in a way that is both shameful and hurtful and that needs to stop now![]()
I have a leaflet here from People before Profit claiming we should vote no because Lisbon doesn't legalise abortion.
Its almost as if the No side haven't a clue what we're voting on.
"Who will bailout the IMF after FF is finished with them?"
While the yes side know that "europe has been good to us", which is obviously reason enough to take a leap of faith on Lisbon.Originally Posted by seabhcan

It's not the worst reason in the world. It's basically saying that if you don't understand the Treaty and can't be arsed finding out, you can decide based on the previous record of the EU. It's only the flip side of "don't know, vote No" - and we can't force people to find out about the Treaty if they're not really interested.Originally Posted by CookieMonster

I think both are equally poor reasons to be honest. If you don't know, find out. If you still don't know, don't vote and stay away from sharp objects.Originally Posted by ibis
