The 45000 member craft union is calling for a No vote. It is citing recent pro-business judgements in the ECJ (eg Laval judgement) and Ireland's, along with other country's, blocking of directives such as on agency workers.

I will delete my identical thread.
Good news for the no campaign, especially if as the union claimed, other unions may join the no side in the coming weeks.
Sorry FT. Was yours up first.
I don't know but let this be the thread.
I assume that ASTI and the other one won't be voicing an opinion?
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

I love the EU. I just want to see it reformed so it is more democratic and responsive to the peoples of Europe.
Yeeha! Gone on ya good thing!
SIPTU is of course the mother and father of Trade Unions in Ireland. It has the majority of union members. How they fall will be critical in setting the tone and agenda for the last weeks of the campaign. My guess is that if they do not advocate a straight No they may make no recommonendation but make negative noises while doing so.
I thinl SIPTU will support the yes side. Remember they insisted on the Charter being signed up to suggesting that makes it more palatable to them.
