Vote NO to MEPs not Lisbon

Having read the consoladated treaties doc from the IIEA I cannot see anything in it that is too objectional. It is a comprimise and not a bad one. So I will be voting YES.

I would be much more interested in a compaign to highlight the short comings of our MEPs who on the whole are a pretty poor bunch. The European Parliament Elections are next year and if you have any gripes about the european project that is where to start.

    Here are our elected representivities.

Do you know what they stand for in Europe or what theyve done besides get elected. I dont either. Given that Dana was able to get elected it seems that money is all you need.

Then why do you want to give them more power?

Because we don't have to accept the current MEPs. We can vote for better ones.

Not a bad deal, given that we've got less than 1% of the EU's population.

We, the citizens of the EU, can vote for better MEPs and if Lisbon is passed they'll be more able to better represent our interests.

You think "citizens of the EU" have common interests?

Sure. The nations may not, but people do tend to have a lot of interests in common.

So Mc Coise you are opposed to the existence of the European Parliament or you just think Irleand should have the same number of MEPs as Germany?

How does his stance have to be one or the other from the three posts he has made in this thread?!

That stance would be part of MacCoise's posting history...
