    Vote Yes To Lisbon Video

    http://www.maireadmcguinness.ie/LisbonTreaty320x180.wmv

A video supporting a yes vote in the Lisbon Treaty referendum. I know some people will start complaining, but there is plenty of "No" stuff on this forum, so if anyone doesn't want to see "Yes" stuff, please feel free to pm me.

No, that's fine. Question - why is it not on YouTube?

    Utter TRIPE!

That video was complete and utter rubbish. In no part did it mention anything, anything at all about the Treaty. Only that Ireland has prospered in Europe and that we should vote yes to keep being prosperous. A no vote won't change or stance in Europe, it'll change the Lisbon Treaty to make it better for Europe.

We also saw that the people she "interviewed" knew nothing of the Treaty which shows how much confidence she has in the electorate.

"Don't seek an alternative opinion, vote yes."

The second half of the video does explain some of the Treaty content. It would be hard to fit more in in a short video.

What would you change in Lisbon to "make it better for Europe"?

I love the fact in the first half of the video, in the history section, she forgot to mention how the constitution was rejected by two countries through "democracy" and in this "new" constitution, that "democracy" has been taken away from every country except for us!

I also love the interviews with the regular people, the only question that seemed to be asked for them all was, has Ireland benifited from being in the E.U.? How come this woman did not ask other questions?

Scrap the loss of a commissioner

    Take powers from the ECJ

Introduce a clause to ensure the euro is kept at a certain level

As for it being a short video, there is 3.5 minutes wasted on people stalling their sentences!

She also forgot to mention that the constitution was passed in two countries by referenda and in the parliaments of a dozen countries or more.

What does "the euro is kept at a certain level" mean?

    What's wrong with the ECJ?

Do you really want a commission with 27 commissioners? Its hard enough finding jobs for 20 of them. Take a look at their job descriptions - they are increasingly non-jobs. Commissioners are not free.

Yeah, I know, it is very funny to see how she makes the time to mention world wars and the really early stuff, but she forgets to mention the original constitution which is far far more relevant!

Why? Because people would think it is a bigger deal if they knew that 4 countries that voted on it, two rejected it and two accepted it on behalf of the people. It would make them say, hmmm maybe Bertie is not right when he calls the no side loolahs?

It does not make sense to talk about freedom and democracy when we are the only country in Europe who have a vote on it, other countries have been denied their freedom and democracy!! it is hypocritical!
