Who Paid For The Libertas Bus? (Among other things)

Dave, just wondering if the coach has been rented or bought? And does anyone have any idea how much a customised job like this would cost?
It's just...none of the other groups opposing this treaty seem to have the moolah to afford fancy measures like this, and certainly they seem to have more people involved in them (PANA,IAWM,PFP etc). I suppose the Shinners have the resources and maybe they might share the wealth or the bus seats.

Once again, Libertas seems to have greater resources than an organisation as small as it probably shouldn't have access to. Or did Mr. Ganley pony up all the dough? I'm sorry to go on about this, but applying the Vincent Brown rule that it's wrong to buy a county council seat - in the manner he accused a Dun Laoghaire FGer of doing - then surely this smells a little too?

I think we won't get an answer to the funding question. I have assked it enough times already. I am more concerned about how Libertas is run? Is it a company with shareholders? Or is it an organisation with members, a constitution and elections etc.

Maybe they've been receiving personal political donations from Fianna Fáil in light of their demonification of certain Fine Gael TDs. The enemy of my enemy is my friend perhaps?

The message on the bus is blatant mis-information, as with all Libertas slogans.

My personal take on Libertas is that it is a personal initiative of Declan Ganley (and nothing wrong with that on the face of things), with maybe...ten...other people at the most? Based on the very small number of people that seem to represent them. At least the other groups opposing the Treaty are genuine grassroots organisations, who have exactly as much money to spend as you would imagine for organisations of their size.

And who is paying the driver? Surely a month of bussing around the country is not going to come cheap

I agree with you on the above. Though I do have a problem with such misrepresentation, both what they say about Lisbon and the EU, and what they say about themselves, and I hope such misrepresentation is fully exposed.

I can imagine any plans by Ganley & Co to get involved in full-time electoral politics after the referendum will be a hoot though.
