UCD L&H Debate on Lisbon Treaty - Wed 16th

Just to let you all know, there's a debate on the Lisbon Treaty in UCD tonight. It's been run by the L&H, and will be in Theatre P of the Arts Block at 7pm. The motion is "That This House Would Vote Yes on the Lisbon Treaty". It's open to everyone (even if you're not a UCD student), but as usual, the L&H reserves the right to refuse admission. It'll be a mix of student speakers and the following guests:

    Speakers:
    • Ruairi Quinn TD - Chairman of the Alliance for Europe[/*:m:1944v5f5]
    • Proinsias De Rossa MEP - Labour Party[/*:m:1944v5f5]
    • John McGuirk - Libertas[/*:m:1944v5f5]
    • Dr. Kieran Allen - Socialist Workers Party member and head of UCD School of Sociology[/*:m:1944v5f5]

    Beautifully designed L&H site *cough*

Why do you have two Labour members and no one from either FG or FF?

Because we invited one from each party, and Ruairi Quinn as chair of the Alliance for Europe. The other invited people couldn't make it, by which point it was too late to ask others. The debate was organised fairly late on, after the new session began.

No following people with it afterwards, though.

That's true. He won't be able to make it.

And will there be a replacement?
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

That's dissapointing. Is that because he was attacked?
