Dick Roche slams Libertas over Lucinda Creighton billboard

Dick Roche has slated Libertas for its billboard campaign in Lucinda Creighton's Dublin South-East constituency with a quote from the pro-Lisbon Fine Gael TD saying: "We need a European army."
Roche says this is a "new low".
    Why?
It's accurate. And what's low about telling voters what their TD has actually said.
And wasn't Roche's leader, Bertie Ahern, the first to reach a new low when he dismissed opponents of Lisbon as "loo-las of every kind"?

Roche is obviously afraid that some of his own quotes from the Nice debate will appear on the next billboard. Oh please Libertas !
    Don't let us down.

I'd say Dick Roche is a new low, but he's been around for ever.

    Fine. I'll bite.

It is a new low because Lucinda Creighton has nothing to do with the Treaty. Zip. Nadda. Libertas are playing the woman and not the ball. If Deputy Creighton had any say in the formulation of the Treaty, then what she says about European militarisation might count for something. But she didn't, and it doesn't.

I can't believe I'm defending Lucinda Creighton and Dick Roche. I need to go have a shower.

Er, she's a TD for Fine Gael and Fine Gael backs the treaty. And she said what she said about a European army. That's a lot to do with the treaty.

Her views on European militarisation or the creation of a European army were not taken into account when the Treaty was drafted. Ergo, they are irrelevent.

    That's utter tripe.
The woman is hawking a Yes vote around Ireland, she has everything to do with the Lisbon Treaty vote.

This spin. Just because she wants a European army, doesnt mean she/we'll get one. The treaty doesnt do that.
