Because, as we all well know and has been stated by the dutch, they're afraid the people will reject it again, and we can't have that, can we!
With the Dutch it was a clear cut rejection with 61% against 38% for and the French, whom many will claim were not voting on the constitution so much as they were against the government it was 55% against, 45% for and even if it was the case, why not allow them to vote again, everybody loves Sarkozy now, don't they?

i thaught books on the constitution where in the top ten hard back and paper back non fiction best sellers in france for a conciderable time before the vote
all the latest from the rossport solidaridy camp

Sadly, you're not alone there. I'd say one in ten/twenty have any idea about it at all.
I did try to read through it online, but my God, Ulysses is easy reading in comparison....

Yes, they were and there was fierce debate, often dividing families. I don't believe it was the case that the French were voting against Chirac rather than the constitution. But it has been suggested many times to somehow discredit the French rejection.
    A poster of some consequence...

The This Week insert on the RTÉ website is describing Declan Ganley as a 'billionaire'. Is he?

Don't know, it is a bit mysterious. He isn't listed on the Sunday Times Rich List Ireland for 2007. However the article here puts his wealth at some 300 million in 2006, expected to rise to a billion over the next number of years.

I think Ireland should be very proud to have self-made billionaires.

So what is your purpose of aiming it at me personally?
