Sinn Féin (Poblachtach) oppose EU Constitution

Republican Sinn Féin are calling for a 'No' in the upcoming referendum. The organisation's Vice-President, Des Dalton has claimed that "The entire EU project is fundamentally undemocratic; eroding the rights of states, placing the power of decision making in the hands of unelected and unaccountable officials..."

The other reason being that the EU project is fundamentally undemocratic? In light of Nice II that would suit your sort alright.

Well its just typical of "your sort" to be long on propaganda type soundbites but very very short on anything resembling substance. In your statement there is absolutely no reference in the treaty itself. The only argument you seem to be making is that you opposed all the treaties in the past, therefore you are opposing the current treaty. Well to extend that logic, a person who voted in favour of previous treaties, should similarly vote in favour of this one. Brilliant stuff altogether

The first sentence of the statement refers to the position that has been held (re: past treaties). The only other reference to the past was the shambolic situation of the Nice referendums in 2001 and 2002.

But you don't provide a single substantive reason why the treaty should be rejected. None at all.

Really? Many European leaders, including Bertie, don't seem to think so
