The Treaty would be self-amending allowing changes to be made without a treaty-changing Inter Governmental Conference. National vetoes would be further diluted by extending qualified majority voting to eight key law-making areas.
Very interesting indeed. No doubt this will be an embarrassment to them if they decide to campaign for a yes vote. They will be dogged by questions as to why they want us to vote for something they themselves have condemned in their own literature. Sortof like when Quinn called Nice "a disaster".
Its people like you who will mess up any actual no campaign.

The GP document clearly is a list of common arguments. Pros and cons.

How and where does it damn it?[/quote:226gfept]

It makes criticisms of the Treaty which will be used as ammo against the Yes arguments and it will be all the sweeter having come from the mouth of a yes campaigning party should the Greens vote yes.

Analysts believe that even if we don't sign up to CCCTB, that Irish companies doing business in participating countries could be effected. If CCCTB compels companies to declare global EU sales, and if the sales-destination countries try to force Irish companies doing business there to reveal such info, it could lead to us being forced into CCCTB by the back door.[/quote:226gfept]

CCCTB will adversely affect us. And it will be brought in via QMV, and I don't think we can sto pit, because the voting system is being changed to increase the necessary size of the blocking minority.

CCCTB is also contrary to free-market principles. A company in hte UK with a tax base in say Ireland will pay lower corporate taxes - so they will have an unfair advantage in the market. That's really bad news for UK start-ups. it favours big companies over smaller. I'm not being nationalistic at all - it's bad fos small businesses in the EU and I think that's a betrayal of free-market principles.
