The US is a singular state. There is only one United States of America. So the thread's title should be "How the US views the Treaty". It would be plural if it said "How US citizens view the EU treaty".

They are looking forward to EU troops joining them in Iraq after the Treaty passes.

The americans really are on a different planet.

"Unelected European Elites" - and they cut to a clip of the very elected French president.

whats interesting in that clip is the way the US presenters believe / imply that its wrong for europe to want to have its own policies and say on the world stage that may differ from the US, cheeky bloody europeans eh ?

Hilarious stuff. The whole European project is simply a counter to the US, apparently.

Is that an Op-Ed, by the by?

What a ridiculous, biased, inaccurate heap of tripe. Who was their 'advisor' on it? Patricia McKenna and FutureTaoiseach?

CNN can be bad, but that is so bad it is hilarious. The subtext is 'those nasty Europeans are plotting against the poor innocent Yanks. Interesting to see how they used the 'Heritage Foundation' as a 'neutral' source of analysis. That's a bit like asking Family Solidarity to act as an objective source on gay rights!!!
